My work as a knowledgeable local resident brings positive change to Schönebeck

I am delighted that my commitment to making our town safer is bearing fruit! After I submitted an enquiry to the social affairs committee, a reduction in the speed limit near Dr. Tolberg primary school on Wilhelm-Hellge-Straße in Schönebeck (Elbe) was considered. This is an important step towards making our children’s journey to school safer.

As a knowledgeable local citizen, making our roads safer matters to me. That is why I decided to take action and raise parents’ and children’s concerns about high speeds outside our local school. The mayor’s positive response and the willingness to install new signs to reduce speeds show that citizens’ voices are heard and valued.

As a member of the social affairs committee, I want to understand the actual working conditions of our firefighters. I therefore visited the fire station in Bad Salzelmen to see for myself. I felt it was important to inspect the station, equipment and infrastructure at close quarters, and spoke directly with the men and women who serve there.

I used these valuable insights to ask focused questions in the committee and make a convincing case for necessary improvements. Only by acting proactively can we ensure that our fire service is ready for every eventuality, today and tomorrow. I am firmly committed to keeping investment in the safety and effectiveness of our fire services a priority in local policy. Our firefighters deserve no less.

Protecting nature: a key to sustainable recreation

In a rapidly changing world, one thing remains constant: our need to rest and recharge. But this is only possible when healthy, thriving nature surrounds us. Climate protection is therefore a matter of social responsibility as well as environmental policy. I am passionate about protecting our local natural spaces because they are essential to our physical and mental health. Targeted measures to preserve our environment protect both the beauty of our landscapes and future generations’ ability to rest and thrive. Let us act together and shape responsible policies for a sustainable future.

Balance as the foundation of regional economic development

A thriving regional economy requires a carefully balanced combination of factors. Businesses can only develop and flourish when the conditions are right. But what exactly does that mean?

Firstly, it is essential to pay close attention to who comes to our region. This applies not only to businesses themselves but also to the talent they attract. Quality attracts quality, so a region’s appeal is directly linked to the quality of the jobs it offers.

Environmental protection plays a central role. Sustainable practices are good for our planet and are becoming increasingly important for companies looking to position themselves for the future. Strong environmental policies attract innovative, responsible businesses, which in turn attract highly qualified and committed workers.

Infrastructure is also crucial. From transport links and digital networks to local supply chains, infrastructure must keep pace with businesses’ needs. Investment in these areas is an investment in the future viability of our economy.

Ultimately, regional economic development is a complex interplay of many factors, every one of which matters. By carefully considering and developing these aspects, we create a solid foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity in our region.

Keeping the conversation going: an important update on Schönebeck’s new swimming pool project

In Schönebeck (Elbe), it is important to advance forward-looking projects such as new facilities, and also essential to regularly review their current progress. Communication and transparency about such projects are key to strengthening residents’ trust in the town administration.

The planned swimming pool is more than an infrastructure project: it will enliven Schönebeck’s social, cultural and sporting life. It is therefore crucial that residents receive regular updates and that their views and suggestions are taken into account.

Following up and asking about the progress of important projects is both a right and a responsibility of councillors and residents. It keeps projects moving, helps identify and tackle obstacles early, and ensures that the town’s resources are used effectively to improve quality of life in Schönebeck. Staying engaged and continually asking for updates can build a shared sense of participation and progress.
