A walk for young and old
Do you love nature? Do you enjoy finding new walking trails? Would you like to discover new things along the way?
Then we definitely recommend the Waldgeisterweg in the Greifensteinwald, in the Ore Mountains region. It is a beautiful landscape to pause in and admire. The trail is not too long, making it suitable even for very young explorers.
Experience nature, breathe fresh air, escape everyday life and discover the forest spirits. From the Frog King to imaginative mythical creatures, there is something for everyone. The figures are carved from tree trunks and are not frightening, despite what the name might suggest. They are funny, friendly wooden figures.
Every year, new forest spirits join the family. Each new arrival is also “christened” and given a funny name. This child-friendly trail in the Greifensteinwald was created through the great dedication of the local woodcarving and nativity association.
We recently walked the forest spirit trail, and the children and grown-ups alike loved it. We took some wonderful pictures that we would now like to share with you.
Our verdict: It is impressive to see what has been created from tree trunks. Beautiful to look at, varied and wonderful. We would love to come back and admire the new additions to the forest spirits. Being in nature is still one of life’s loveliest things.
